The jubilee 10th PT conference has been held!
The 10th International Academic Conference “Places and Technologies 2025”, with core topic “Keeping up with technologies to shape joyful cities,” took place from 22–23 May 2025 at the Impact HUB venue. This scientific conference was organised by the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, in cooperation with the UrbanLAB association.
The Organising Committee of the conference consisted of: Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Đukić, Prof. Dr. Eva Vanista Lazarević, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Krstić Furundžić, and Prof. Dr. Milena Vukmirović (Faculty of Forestry), who are also the founders of the Places and Technologies conference. Associate members of the Scientific Committee were: Nikola Mitrović, research assistant, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Jelena Marić. The Technical Committee members were: Nikola Mitrović, research assistant (coordinator), Emilija Jović, junior research assistant , and Jovana Stefanović, junior research assistant. This year’s conference received over 100 scientific papers from more than 19 participating countries.

The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Đukić, the conference director.
Keynote lectures were delivered by professors from the United Kingdom and Austria, followed by engaging discussions and debates on topics such as happy cities, housing development, and digitalisation. The event also featured a book promotion – Joyful cities: Urban regeneration revisited [Srećni gradovi: Urbana regeneracija revisited], edited by Prof. Dr. Eva Vanista Lazarević and Asst. Prof. Dr. Jelena Marić.
A large audience, including a significant number of doctoral students and PhD candidates, actively participated in both the main plenary session and subsequent thematic sessions. The largest group of attendees were doctoral students from Pécs, the conference’s regional partner city, where the PT conference has been held twice.
Over the past 10 years, the conference has rotated every other year to other regional locations, including Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Hungary. In recent years, the conference has also welcomed participants from outside of Europe.
The Places and Technologies conference (www.sites.google.com/view/places-and-technologies) has become a recognizable feature and brand of the Faculty of Architecture, successfully shaping the public image of the school and reinforcing its position within scientific and professional circles through its presence and published proceedings.
