In the preceding period, through a series of activities and partnership meetings between RDA-BP and the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, the foundations for work and cooperation were established on the project for rural areas within the pilot region: Braničevo Region – Municipality of Golubac.

On July 23, 2025, the first partnership meeting between RDA-BP and the Faculty of Architecture (Belgrade) was held at the Regional Development Agency Braničevo-Podunavlje (RDA-BP), in Požarevac. This meeting established the dynamics of further project work, as well as the mapping and contacting of stakeholders (ranging from local residents and enterprises to representatives of local communities, the Municipality of Golubac, and other institutions). Subsequently, a site visit was conducted to the locations (villages) serving as pilot sites for future project activities – the Golubac villages: Braničevo, Usije-Vinci, Dobra, and Krivača. The meeting and site visits were attended by: Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Đukić (Project Manager), Nikola Mitrović, Research Assistant (Communication Manager), and Emilija Jović, Junior Research Assistant (Researcher) representing the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, as well as Ivana Antonijević (Project Manager) and Jelena Petrović (Communication Manager) representing the Regional Development Agency Braničevo-Podunavlje (RDA-BP).

On October 31, 2025, in Golubac, at the hall of Public Library  “Veljko Dugošević”, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Đukić held a workshop and lecture titled “Golubac in Plans, Projects, and Visions” within the framework of the INTERREG Danube Ruralscapes project. The project and workshop were organized for representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers – Regional Centre Novi Sad, the Department of Urban Planning of the Municipality of Golubac, as well as other interested parties. The objective was capacity building, strengthening, and consultations with local and external professionals, alongside fostering a broader discussion on the regulatory and  legislation framework for spatial planning, urban planning, and design in the rural areas of the pilot region: Braničevo Region – Municipality of Golubac.

At the end of February 2026, in the Golubac villages (Braničevo, Usije-Vinci, Dobra, Krivača), representatives of the Regional Development Agency Braničevo-Podunavlje (RDA-BP)  held meetings with local residents and stakeholders as part of the “first project presentation” at the local level. This included surveying, familiarizing the community with the project, and announcing upcoming activities in the forthcoming period.

On March 12, 2026, the second partnership meeting between RDA-BP and UBGD-FA was held at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. During this meeting, the collected results from the local surveys and project presentations were summarized. Concurrently, further surveys of professionals and other experts in the fields of spatial planning, urban planning and design, and the protection and restoration of architectural heritage were agreed upon. The aim is to form an overview of the regulatory and legislation framework and define the policy gaps related to spatial planning, urban planning and design, and the protection of architectural heritage in rural areas of Serbia. This represents part of a broader activity within the INTERREG Danube Ruralscapes project, involving the exchange of experiences with other university partners from Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Ukraine, and the analysis of seven targeted microregions. Additionally, the working dynamics with students across several courses have been established as part of the broader project activities: study tours, workshops, a building camp, and pilot actions. The meeting was attended by: Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Đukić (Project Manager), Nikola Mitrović, Research Assistant (Communication Manager), Emilija Jović, Junior Research Assistant (Researcher), and Jovana Stefanović, Junior Research Assistant (Researcher) representing the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, as well as Ivana Antonijević (Project Manager) and Jelena Petrović (Communication Manager) representing the Regional Development Agency Braničevo-Podunavlje (RDA-BP).
