Background

The project Creating the Network of Knowledge Labs for Sustainable and Resilient Environments (KLABS) is capacity building action in the field of higher education, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union. KLABS is the educational platform which addresses two current and equally important challenges of urban and rural built environments in Western Balkan – sustainability and resilience to climate change. The specialist study program “Energy Efficient and Green Architecture was initiated and accredited in 2012. It was revised and improved through Erasmus+ K2 project KLABS, and re-accredited in January 2018. The “Energy Efficient and Green Architecture” is specialist studies, 1 year, 60 ECTS post-graduate program.

Students are eligible for enrollment after 300 ETCS completed in architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or other studies in complementary area. The program is designed to provide an inquiry in the field of sustainable, energy-efficient and green architecture, with the aim of expanding the knowledge necessary for design, construction, evaluation of energy efficiency and green building in accordance with the current relevant national and international regulations; as well as to provide the professional qualification (which is the basis for obtaining a license) required for energy efficiency studies and buildings certification. Course output and final works are available from previous classes (since 2012).

Duties and responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities are defined by KLABS project description, WP 3.4 External Evaluation of Study Programs:

All Partner Countries partners will perform, in collaboration with the recognized external international evaluators, the external evaluation of new developed / revised studies, in order to internationally validate them. External evaluators will:
• Visit evaluating institution and meet with the procedures and processes related to its functioning,
• Attend classes, meet the students and teaching staff engaged in studies Energy Efficient and Green Architecture,
• Evaluate material conditions for the implementation of new/revised study program,
• Write evaluation reports and deliver them to subject institutions.

The classes are organized in block sessions. The evaluators should take into consideration the following dates assigned to Block#2 and be available for attending one set of classes (2.1-2.7):

Classes Block#2 for 2017/2018:
2.1 – April: 20,21
2.2 – April: 27,28
2.3 – May: 4,5
2.4 – May: 11,12
2.5 – May: 18,19
2.6 – May: 25,26
2.7 – June: 1,2

Required skills and experience

Required skills and experience:
• Teaching position at higher education institution, preferably Associate Professor or Full Professor;
• Academic and/or professional expertise in at least one of the following areas: green building, energy efficiency, bioclimatic architecture, sustainability and resilience related to architecture and built environment.
• The following specific experiences will be considered as an asset: experience in establishing new study programs; experience in developing learning methodologies; experience in evaluation of study programs.
• Language: English; basic knowledge of Serbian will be considered as an asset.

Type of contract

AGREEMENT ON HIRING AN EXTERNAL EXPERT, contract between the University of Belgrade and the Evaluator (personal contracting in accordance with Erasmus rules and guidelines).
