In his lecture ‘Thinking Space’, Volkmar Mühleis will discuss first the logical instrumentarium on the one hand how to think space and on the other how to think spatially, and second practical implications of these questions in terms of designing with Reverse Perspective in comparison to Doppler Effect in the domain of architecture.
Biography
Volkmar Mühleis (*1972) teaches philosophy and aesthetics at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels and Ghent. His publications include in English the monographies ‘Girl with Dead Bird – Intercultural Observations’ (2018, Leuven University Press) and ‘Goodbye to Morrissey – An Essay on Art and Morals’ (2021, Grafische Cel, Ghent). He is member of several philosophical societies, like the Society for Intercultural Philosophy and the Society for Phenomenological Research. Together with Wim Goes, architect in Ghent and at the University of Leuven, he does practice-based research on Reverse Perspective in architecture. More info: www.volkmarmuehleis.eu
