Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade invites everyone interested to attend the Open Studio of Architecture: Promotion of Nominee Graduate Projects, held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Cultural Center of Belgrade, ARTGET Gallery. 

Agenda:

OSA (Open Studio of Architecture): Promotion of Nominee Graduate Projects is a presentation of newly formed professionals, graduates of the 2018/2019 academic year, whose master diploma projects have been nominated for eight recognized national and international awards in the field of architecture and urban planning, and who are expected to be responsible for transforming our environment in the future. The basic idea of the event is presenting the most successful final master projects through a plenary discussion accompanied with the critics and an exhibition. 

NOMINATIONS OF FINAL MASTER PROJECTS 2018/2019 

With the aim of the successful promotion of the Faculty and presentation of students’ results on the national and international academic scenethe Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade realized the activity of nominating the most successful final master projects for the recognized national and international student awards and competitions. This year, the Commission for Selection of the Most Successful Final Master Projects for the academic year 2018/2019, composed by: Arch. Dejan Miljković, Full Professor, Head of Study Unit Master Diploma Project; arch. Vladimir Lojanica, Full Professor, Head of Department of Architecture; Dr. Aleksandra Stupar, associate professor, Head of Department of Urbanism; and Dr. Jelena Ivanovic-Sekularac, Full Professor, Head of Department of Architectural Technologies, with three international members: Lilly Kudic, Head of Architecture, University of London South Bank, UK; Milica Topalović, Associate Professor ARCHITECTURE OF TERRITORY, Architecture and Territorial Planning, Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich; and Ajla Selenić, Architecture – Design – Art, Helsinki, Finland, decided to nominate 3 national and 5 international student awards on behalf of the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture. Master final projects are realized within the fourth semester of the Master academic program Architecture – II year, Master academic studies Interior architecture – II year and Master academic studies Integral urbanism – II year. 

RIBA PRESIDENT’S MEDALS 

RIBA President’s Medals are awards given annually by the Royal British Institute of Architects – RIBA and represent the oldest and most prestigious awards in architectural education in the world, dating back to 1836, when the Royal British Institute of Architects awarded George Godwin the first silver medal for the essay “Nature and Properties of Concrete. The current award format was established in 1986, when a large number of student awards, scholarships and honors were replaced with bronze and silver medals to reward outstanding student work within the verified RIBA part 1 and RIBA part 2 programs, and since 2001 and Best Dissertation Award.

YOUNG TALENT ARCHITECTURE AWARD – EUROPEAN UNION PRIZE FOR CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE MIES VAN DER ROHE AWARD 2020 

The Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA) is organized by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation with the support of Creative Europe as an extension of the European Union’s Award for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe. This award is presented in partnership with the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE), of which the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade is a formal member and the Council of Architects of Europe (ACE-CAE).

THE BELGRADE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARD FOR BEST GRADUATE THESIS 2019 

The Belgrade Chamber of Commerce Award for Best Graduate Thesis is intended to encourage young professionals and scholars to select topics of importance for the development of Belgrade’s economy for graduate / master’s and doctoral theses. The award has been launched since 1968, with the Design and Technical Achievement Award established several years later.

TAMAYOUZ INTERNATIONAL AWARD 2020 FOR GRADUATION PROJECTS  

The Tamayouz International Graduation Projects Award is a global competition for graduate projects in architecture, urban design, urban planning, architectural technology and landscape design. The prizes are awarded internationally since 2012, evolving from a national to a globally recognized award, primarily because of the credibility of the critics – starting with Zaha Hadid, who contributed to the global branding of the award through participation in the jury in 2012. Awards are given for individual graduate projects, for the best architecture school and the most successful mentorship.
