The team of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade participates as the main partner from Serbia in international bilateral project with the title “Comprehensive Urban Governance – CUG”. The project application was approved by Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation in July 2019. The leading partner is the Faculty for Architecture of Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and the associate partners from Serbia are the Serbian Town Planner Association – STPA, the Municipality of Golubac, and institutes for Urbanism in Zrenjanin and Sremska Mitrovica. By the application, the project is lasting one year (2019-2020) and it will be realised through fieldwork, joint workshops and professional meetings.

“Comprehensive Urban Governance” presents a cross-cutting theme of improving governance, planning and municipal self-government by implementing innovative strategic documents that include not only environment-related topics, but also education, employment and, last but not least, capacity building and competencies of municipalities in economic, environmental and social coordination of settlement development. The main objective of the project is to transfer the combined approach and successful experiences from the application of innovative strategic documents of the SR, such as the Development Action Plans at the administrative level of districts (micro/regions), and the comprehensive use and development of strategic territorial and regional plans.

PROJECT PARTICIPANTS on the behalf of the Faculty of Architecture are:

  • prof. Dr. Aleksandra Djukić – local manager and senior researcher;
  • Jelena Marić, T.A. – young researcher;
  • Branislav Antonić, T.A. – young researcher; and
