A guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Jinfeng DU entitled
“The Development of Chinese Eco-Civilization and Some Cases in Xi’an”
will be held on Friday, March 20, at 12:00 in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Architecture as part of the lecture course Studio 02a: Sustainable Urban Communities, led by Dr. Ksenija Lalović, full professor.
In this lecture, Prof. Dr. Jinfeng DU will present China’s efforts to promote environmental conservation while simultaneously striving for socio-economic growth, with special emphasis on the Eco-Civilization Development Strategy that has been implemented since 2012. Using Xi’an, one of China’s ancient capitals, as an example, he will present local initiatives to achieve high-quality urban development.
The lecture is open to all interested parties.
Prof. Dr. Jinfeng DU is a full professor at the School of Public Policy and Administration, Jiaotong University, Xi’an. He received his PhD in human geography from Peking University and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Duke University, and Harvard University.
His research focuses on land reform and land policy, urban-rural development, governance, and ecological restoration for sustainable development. As a principal investigator, he has led more than 10 national-level grants and several international collaborative initiatives, including projects funded by the National Key Research and Development Program of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
He has actively promoted academic cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, especially Serbia. The guest lecture is implemented within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture and the School of Public Policy and Administration at Jiaotong University in Xi’an, signed in 2023.
