Danira M. Sovilj was born in Knin (Croatia) in 1990. She finished primary and secondary school in Kraljevo. She finished the “Art School in Kraljevo” as a student of the generation. She completed Undergraduate studies at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture in 2012 with an average grade of 8.88, and in 2014 she completed Master’s studies at the same faculty with an average grade of 9.89. During her studies, she was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Serbia. She graduated with a grade of 10 with the mentor of Professor Milan Vujović, MA, with the topic …At the crossroads… In the same year, she enrolled in Doctoral Academic Studies, which she completed in February 2021. She obtained the title of Doctor of Technical Science in Architecture and Urbanism by defending her doctoral dissertation Aesthetic Manipulation of the Experience of Architectural Space – through the Analysis of Christian Sacral Architecture of the Second Half of the XX Century. The doctoral dissertation was evaluated with the highest grade, and the mentor during its preparation was Professor Dr. Vladimir Mako.

At the Faculty of Architecture, she was engaged as a student-assistant from 2012 to 2015 in five subjects (Architectural Graphics, 3D Architectural Graphics, Studio Project 1, Studio Project 4, M5 studio project). In 2015, she was elected as an teaching assistant in the field of Visual Communication and Architectural Graphics at the Department of Architecture. She participates in the realization of six courses: Visual research, Transformation of graphical form, Architectural graphics, Analysis of graphic form, Visual communications, Graphic matrices. She is part of a team that has prepared and organized over 20 student exhibitions in the period from 2015 to 2021.

She has participated in several student exhibitions, among them the exhibition of graduate projects within the framework of RIBA accreditation in 2014 and selected student works of the Master’s study in the hall of the Faculty of Architecture in October 2015. In addition, she has exhibited in 30 collective exhibitions, five of which are international.

With the author team (arch. M. Nenadović, arch. dr. A. Nenadović, arch. Đ. Nenadović, b. arch. B. Čanković, mast. ing. arch. D. Sovilj, mast. ing. arh. M. Babić), she is the winner of the third prize in the international architectural competition of the project of the complex on Crkvina in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project was presented at the international exhibition Balkan Architectural Biennale in 2015. She participated in the same exhibition in 2019 with the conceptual design of the project of a residential complex in Budva (author team: arch. dr. V. Parežanin, arch. P. Parović, m. arch. D. Sovilj, b. Arch. N. Antonijević, m. arch. R. Masleša).

In 2018, she became a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts and Designers of Serbia (ULUPUDS), and in the same year she won the competition for the visual identity of the jubilee 50th May Exhibition of ULUPUDS for the first time. In the period from 2018 to 2020, she won the competition for the annual May exhibition of ULUPUDS three times.

She is a member of ULUPUDS (design section), ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Association), ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design).
