Jelena Ivanović-Šekularac (1966) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, in 1990. She was named valedictorian of the University of Belgrade in 1989/90. She was awarded the prize from the fund Sisters Bulajić when the University of Belgrade declared her thesis to be the Faculty of Architecture’s best thesis in 1990/91. She obtained a Master of Science (1999) and Doctoral degrees (2010) from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade.

In 1994 she was first employed as an Assistant trainee at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade. Then, she was Assistant, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor. Ever since 2017, she has been a Full Professor.

She is the head of the Department of Architectural Technology since 2018/19.

ÖAD awarded her a scholarship, The Austrian Academic Exchange Service, Ministry of Science, the Austrian Federal Government, and she attended the Institute of Metal and Wood Structures, The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, University of Innsbruck (1997).

She is the author of numerous articles published in the leading international scientific research journals and many scientific national journals.

She is the author of the scientific monograph Predškolske ustanove i komfor (Preschools and Comfort), ACADEMIA library, Foundation Andrejević, Belgrade (2000).

She is the author of the textbook Drvo u savremenoj arhitekturi (Wood in contemporary architecture), the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture, Belgrade (2017).

She took part in many international and national scientific conferences where she presented her works.

She is engaged in scientific research, and she participates in Scientific research projects.

She is the author of a large number of realized architectural objects in the country and abroad.

In 2003 she received the Designer License 300, The Serbian Chamber of Engineers for authorized architects.

She is married and has two adult daughters.
