Research interests:
History, theory, aesthetics and philosophy of art, architecture, applied arts and design, environmental aesthetics and everyday aesthetics in architecture, urban design, enterior design and industrial design, protection of cultural tangible and intangible heritage.

Irena Kuletin Ćulafić was born on March 22nd, 1979 in Belgrade. She finished elementary school Sava Kovačević and the Fifth Belgrade Gymnasium, as the winner of Vuk’s diploma. She enrolled at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade in 1998/1999. In her academic education she has obtained four titles: Graduate Engineer in Architecture and Urbanism at Faculty of Architecture University of Belgrade (2004); Mastère Spécialisé en Génie des Systèmes Industriels at L’École Centrale Paris in Paris (2006); Magister of Technical Sciences in Architecture and Urbanism – History and Development of Architecture Theories at  Faculty of Architecture University of Belgrade (2008); Doctor of Technical Sciences in Architecture and Urbanism at Faculty of Architecture University of Belgrade (2012).At the Faculty of Architecture University of Belgrade she started working as a teaching associate (2005), then as an assistant at the Department of Architecture in the research field of History, Theory and Aesthetics of Architecture and Visual Arts and Restoration of Architectural Heritage (2009-2020), and as Assistant Professor from 2020.Her professional interests include history, theory, aesthetics and philosophy of art, architecture, applied arts and design, environmental aesthetics and everyday aesthetics in architecture, urban design, enterior design and industrial design, protection of cultural tangible and intangible heritage.

During her career, she trained professionally in Paris and Rome. She speaks English, French and Italian language. She is the author and co-author of books, as well as many scientific research papers. In 2011 she received international architectural award Ranko Radović for the book The Aesthetic Theory of Architecture of Marc-Antoan Laugier. She is member of several scientific and professional associations: Association of Belgrade Architects (DAB), Union of Architects of Serbia (UAS), Association of Art Historians, Society for Aesthetics of Architecture and Visual Arts of Serbia (DEAVUS), L’Association des diplomes de l’ensiegnement superieur français (ADEF), L’Association des Centraliens (AECP) and Associazione Consorti Dipendenti Ministero Affari Esteri (ACDMAE).
