urban morphology, urban management and education

Aleksandra Đorđević (1990) has finished Bachelor studies in Architecture (2012), and Master studies in Architecture (2014) and Integrated Urbanism (2014) at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture, where she finished Doctoral studies with the topic The Good in Planning: Model of Value Judgment in City Development Practice. Her Master project was awarded by the foundation of Sestre Bulajić for the best thesis at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, while the doctoral dissertation was awarded by The Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia (IAUS) with Annual award Milorad Macura for the best doctoral thesis in the field of architecture and urbanism. Employed at the Department of Urbanism since 2015.

 

She is one of the authors of initiatives New housing models for people threatened by the floods (2014) and Covid-19 Challenges: Architecture of pandemics (2020).

 

She participates in scientific projects of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, and international projects (HERSUS, EUROPE READR, Plot by plot urbanism (ISUF grant)). She published research results in international and national journals, monographs, and conference proceedings.  She is a member of the Laboratory for Morphology and Typology of the City – Morpho-lab, the Laboratory for Place Branding and City Regeneration and the Urban Oasis Laboratory.

 

As a member of various author teams, she received awards and honorable mentions for projects from international and national architectural and urban design competitions of the Old town complex in Tulbe in Vranje (2019, 1st prize), City gallery on Kosančićev Venac (recognitions at 21st Salon of Architecture Novi Sad and BAB 2018), Residential – business block in the center of Subotica (2014, 2nd prize); New Belgrade bus and train station in block 42 (2014, honorable mention); Spa and hotel complex – Palić (2014, honorable mention).

 

She exhibited projects at international exhibitions: Archiprix in Madrid; 23, 24, and 28th Urban Planners Exhibition; 37th and 42nd Salon of Architecture in Belgrade, 21st and 22nd Salon of Architecture Novi Sad, Balkan Architectural Biennale, and Learning architecture – SANU.
