CENTRAL EUROPEAN ARCHITECTURAL ACADEMIC AWARDS 2008
Organized by INVI, presented at the International real estate fairReal Vienna 2008 May 27th -29th, 2008 Vienna
The CE Architectural Awards competition is aimed at drawing young talent from Central European architectural universities. The call for papers will be announced in Universities selected by Investment Environments (INVI) to represent each CE country. One candidate should be chosen by the Faculty of Architecture to represent the school in the pre-selection phase of the competition. Submitted projects will be presented during Real Vienna and will compete for the main prize. Only students and graduates from chosen universities can submit projects. Prizes will be awarded to winning projects during the CE Architectural Awards ceremony on 29th of May.
The deadline for sending documents is 25th of April
2008.

International Congress “The Architecture of Fortifications in the Aegean & the Medieval Settlement of Anavatos of Chios” is going to be held in the island of Chios from the 26th to the 28th of September 2008. The Congress is organized by the Finance Management Fund for Archaelogical Projects (F.M.F.A.P.) of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the 3rd Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
The Building and Social Housing Foundation is currently seeking entries for the World Habitat Awards 2008 competition.
This international competition is open to all individuals and organisations, including central and local governments, NGOs, community-based groups, research organisations and the private sector.
The World Habitat Awards competition has a two-stage entry process:
Stage I submissions need only comprise a concise summary of the project. From the Stage I submissions, twelve projects are selected by an assessment committee to go forward to Stage II of the competition. Stage II submissions are evaluated by an independent advisory group before being put to a panel of international judges. Evaluation visits will be carried out to some of the projects prior to the final judging.

Italian institute for culture has special honor to banquet exhibition "Cities, Rivers, Banks - Belgrade - Rome" which was issued in collaboration between Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade and department CAVEA of the faculty of Architecture L. Quaroni in Rome. This exchange of terrains and cities between students and profesors of two faculties had led to interesting solutions of Dorćol Harbour in Belgrade and Saxo Rubra in Rome, both placed nearby rivers.

The International VELUX Award 2008 for Students of Architecture wants to encourage and challenge students of architecture to explore the theme of sunlight and daylight in its widest sense to create a deeper understanding of this specific and ever-relevant source of light and energy.
“Light of Tomorrow” is the overall theme of the Award that celebrates and promotes excellence in completed study works from students all over the world.
Within the architectureworld 2008 an international student workshop will take place. From the 5th to 7th June 2008 students from all over the world will get the chance to participate in one of the three offered workshops.
The thme “Future Buildings – How do we live in 30 years?” will be looked at from different point of views in three groups under the direction of workshop leaders: Dr. Ken Yeang, Prof. Fumihiko Maki and Prof. Thom Mayne.
The winning team (3 students) will get an Internship at one of the offices of the workshop leaders including flight expenses! Every participant will receive a participation certificate signed by all three workshop leaders.

XXIII UIA World Congress of Architecture TORINO 2008
This ideas competition, in a single stage, is organised in the framework of the UIA Congress Turin 2008. Based on the congress theme, Transmitting architecture, competitors are invited to design a TOTEM, an architectural object for communication, information and exchange to be located in one of the following three types of environment: a social context: poverty; a natural context: ecology; an urban context: metropolis.
The competition procedure will be run entirely on internet. Students of architecture worldwide attending a school recognised by the UIA member section in their country are invited to take part by submitting a proposal online. The competition documents, programme and regulations may be downloaded on the competition web site.
Registration takes place at the same time as the electronic transmission of the project

The competition language is English. There is no registration fee.
The exhibition of students work at Faculty of Architecture

During winter semester of academic year 2007/2008 collaboration bitween Department of Urbanism of Faculty of Architecture University of Belgrade and Institut für Städtebau Technischen Universität Graz was realized. During this time two Master degree studios from both institutions were involved in the common Projectof Reconstruction of Sava's Amphitheater in Belgrade.
The exhibition of students projects is opening on Wednesday, February 28, 2008 at 12.00pm in Formal Hall of Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade.
